PFD Apparatus -- Rescue 1

Rescue 1 is used for vehicle extrication, fire ground support, and other rescue
purposes. Purchased in 1996, Rescue 1 is based on the Freightliner FL80
chassis and was built by Custom Fire Apparatus of Osceola, WI.

Vehicle components:

Wilbert remote controlled light tower with 6000 watts of light capable of lighting most scenes very well. It extends 12 feet above the truck for a total height of 23.5 feet. This light tower, along with three 750 watt tripod-mounted scene lights provide ample light at most scenes.
Two electrical systems: 12 VDC and 120/240 VAC PTO powered generator
High band and low band radios with headset system, digital radio system, cellular telephone, marine band radio, & a mobile repeater system for use when out of range or on a large incident.
Able to seat up to 10 responders. There are 8 equipment compartments outside and 8 inside.
Breathing air cascade system consisting of four 5000 psi air cylinders used to refill SCBA and SCUBA replacement bottles on scene.
